for gaming I agree but for other applications 16gb is usefull. even though all programs can run swiftly with 8gb I have topped 14gb a few times with maya autodesk on large files.

Yup, that'll do it, I also regularly use about 80-90% of my 16gb of ram as I rum VM's for work.
