Crosshair IV Formula Missing HDD Error

Is it not going to messs up the OS to put it into a different PC?

nope. the only thing that will change is your display settings and other drivers you may have on your PC that are not on the test PC. They will just be set to windows default.

I don't have another rig to test it in so I downloaded the WD 'Data Lifeguard Diagnositic' and it passed the SMART check and quick test easily.

I think it is a Mobo issue (or my fault in the BIOS), it looks like it is expecting something that isn't there so it reboots on normal settings.

Thanks for your help KING_OF_SAND, I think I am just going to have to live with it

Do you have a custom boot screen? Maybe it can't locate the image for it and hence reboots

JUMP IT!!

I just ran into a simalr issue with my SABERTOOTH. It said something that my boot image was corrupt or something like that RIGHT AFTER an overclock. I then jumped and everything is now 'a okay' if you dont have a jumper remove the battery for several minutes.
