Crazy power supply guy

Was at a LAN party last week and a guy had his rig there running 4x GTX580's and a 3930K on a R4E and all of his GPU's and CPU water-cooled all on a Corsair HX-1050W. Is he crazy or what? Is this even possible?

in 4 way sli he most likely doesn't have his cards at full load, so yea it is possible. i would like to see him do a full load benchmark though, that would probably wreck it.

Aye at load it will be pushing it but PSU's can go past their 'rated' point and Corsairs big units are well known for it.

Ive had the AX1200i within safe limits doing almost 1500w
