Cpu frequency problems with DFi Infinity...

Urm, in the bios it says cpu frequency. (its the number that gets timesed by the multiplyer). Anything over a 100mhz change (after the multi) makes it load nvidia raid utility after the bios, which does nothing and cant be skipped. I also have the ram timings set up :D but that didnt help anything.

Dont quite understand what you mean by that? Anyone have any experiences with AMD phone support? Might give them a ring tomorrow.

lmao, ring me ;) or XMS or kemp or ham or dave or frag etc. you just need a list of things that should be changed, OCing can get pretty complex in terms of changing multiple things

All i have changed so far is cpu frequency. I just put it back to stock while installing new hardware but i think that the cpu may be damaged since it has been crashing with machine check error and this has happened with the speeds. Might see if i can make use of the AMD 3 year warranty and see if it helps.

Yep, reseted countless times, didnt change anything. And i will try memtest later and see if it gets any errors.

Thanks for the inclusion :( I'm available via msn too doomie22.

I've only ever heard of the RAID message showing up when running too high of an HTT with some nF4 motherboards. Which, you say that you aren't! Is there any reason why you don't want to flash? What specific errors are you getting mate?

If it's a 3000+ you need:

Multi: 10

LDT Multi: 5

HTT: 200

Setting it to auto should set those anyway - just load optimised defaults

Oh, HTT is the number that gets timesed by the multi for the clock speed...In my bios it just calls it cpu frequency. Loaded optimised and fail-safe bios configs, then tried to take the HTT up with no luck, i still get the nvidia ide raid.

But...that's called overcloking. You would need to follow the overclocking guide in our AMD CPU section to get that up properley

I know the basics of overclocking (just didnt know it was called HTT) and know that this setup should be able to go to at least 2500mhz on stock volts and a worse cooler than i have now. But whenever i try i just get nvidia raid.

What volts are you setting for the CPU? Try setting them at 1.35 if it's a Venice E6 stepping, or 1.4 if it's E3. For 2500 I would think it would need more volts than stock: even on a good clocking chip

Nope, had it on 2500 on stock volts (if im not mistaken its 1.375 or 1.35) for a few months, doing a lot of media encoding and other high cpu usage apps. Now, after my pc overhaul, i am getting this problem time and time again
