Couple of questions

Ok so I should have all of my watercooling gear on tues and I was wondering a few things.

Firstly; I will have an akasa eclipse with a PA120.2 (cheers mullet) modded into the roof, I was wondering if it would be better having the rad pull air in or push air out? I would guess pulling air in would cool the loop better but warm the case up and pushing air out would do the opposite? Which would be better? (I know better is subjective but I'm looking for opinions)

Secondly I'm looking for a bit of loop advice, I was going for pump>rad>cpu>gpu>res>pump. Are there any problems with this setup?

On your first question you have it nailed as to which way you have the fans blowing does what. I used to run my top mounted rad setup blowing in to the case for better loop temps. If I had to do it again though, I'd probably have the fans blow out of the case and increase my intake flow from the front and bottom of the case so that the exhausted air going through the rad is still cool. The fans blowing in causes major major dust problems and completely spanks the proper case airflow, but it does give the best loop temps if thats what ur ultimately worried about.

As for the loop setup it looks good except I would probably put the res after the rad and before the cpu. I have never used a res in any of my water builds so someone might be able to better answer that question than myself.

Cheers mate!

Wow those were some quick replies! Think I'll go with the rad pushing air out, hadn't thought about my rig becoming a dust trap.

Cheers guys.

I got my RAD pushing air out and it works well

Excellent, it's settled then. Cheers again. When I get all my bits and I've installed it all I'll get some pics up!

Ok 1 more question, like I said before the rad will be in the roof blowing air out but would it be better having the fans below the rad pushing the air through it and out the case or having the fans above the rad (attached to the roof) pulling the air through the rad and then out?

I think it has been proven that having the fans pull rather than push the air through the radiator works better. Trying to push the air through creates a lot of back pressure and from what I have personally seen is not as effective.

The optimal setup of course is a push/pull config with fans on both sides.

I had thought about push-pull but there wouldn't be enough room, I'll go with the fans pulling the air through then.

Cheers Frag.

Here's what you do if you don't have room for 2 full size 120's on each side. Get some of the ultra-slim fans that 2 will only be just a hair taller than a single and do the push/pull. You will lose a few CFM's but your performance will definitely not suffer since you will be getting a really good flow of air across the rad fins.

Cheers for the suggestion, pretty strapped for cash just now though. I'll see how the 2 fans go and if i'm not happy in a month or 2 i'll have a look for thin fans to use.
