Could someone recommend me a graphics card for new system?

who buys a core2duo & gets a AGP mobo

or even a VIA chipset

I have an old geforce 6800nu unlocked via BIOS to 16pipes, it's in my old system atm, but I might be selling it.

And how much would a used 6800nu unlocked actually cost? Can't really find any info on google for used.

Do you guys think the 6800nu would be good for it also? Equk, would you mind giving a price, just tried to PM you but can't see the option anywhere......... can't access your profile either as I have 'insufficient privelages'............. I must be having a dumb day today!

Shall do some more research. Any advice would be appreciated though!

Thanks again to all on the forums! I posted this query up on a number of sites and this is the only one thats recieved any replies!!

Thanks again!

I'm not sure what it's worth atm really

I might be selling my whole old system together soon, so not sure if I will split it. If you get hold of a 6800nu you can try unlocking the pipes. I think the best AGP card atm is the x1950 tho :)

The ASUS V9999 6800 was a beast of a card. Unlocked and overclocked like a mofo and was well priced in its day.

Have a look on ebay for them.

Found one Here for £35 + £5 postage

Can't access that link at work but will check it out when I get back.

Is definately appealing though. Thanks for listing it!

Have just checked out the above link. The auction is closing today so am expecting a few last minute bids to come on. How much do you guys think its worth? I don’t really want to be putting a max of £50 if its worth less?

I take it this would be fine with the 450w PSU too?

Thanks again,

Killian

As it is just the card on its own, I would go no higher than the £50 mark. You want to keep as much as you can for an after market cooler so you can squeeze as much out of it as possible.

An after market cooler.......... more money :(

Will keep an eye on the auction and then post back later. Is 128MB gonna be enough though??

When your looking at cards that spec it's fine. If you're willing to spend a little more than you'd be looking at 256 and above
