Graphics Card Replacement

Hi Everyone,

As In a thread I posted here: https://forum.overclock3d.net/threa...d-bsod-video_scheduler_internal_error.104398/

I know that my GPU has gone bad, I tried the "onboard" Graphics and the snag has gone away.

And Amazon have refunded me a nice total of £539.00

I'm looking for options to replace this

Either Nvidia RX570 or AMD 9070 or XT

Any recommendations welcomed!
TIA!
Mate see if you can get yourself a 9070XT at or as close to MSRP as possible, I think you'll be quite happy with it.

That I will look at - what about Nvidia?

Depends on what you want really. Nvidia has its perks. Multi-Frame Generation may be interesting to you (if you have a very high refresh rate monitor), and DLSS is available in more games than FSR 4.

Since you are moving from a Radeon RX 7800 XT, the RX 9070 XT is a straight-up upgrade. With an RTX 5070, you have less memory (12GB VS 16GB), but you can get that GPU for as little as £460 these days (which is less than what you got back for the RX 7800 XT!).

Upgrade to an RTX 5070 Ti, the lowest price I see is £679.99, and it has 16GB of memory. TBH, none of these GPUs are bad options. It just depends on what your preference is. The RX 9070 XT is an RTX 5070 Ti competitor with a lower price, but Nvidia has an advantage with broader DLSS support vs FSR.

Gotcha - how much performance wise from 7800XT will it be from upto the 9070XT will be?

The RX 9070 XT is broadly similar to AMD's RX 7900 XTX, which is three GPU models up from the RX 7800 XT (7800 XT < RX 7900 GRE < RX 7900 XT< RX 7900 XTX). So it would be a big leap up.

For more exact data, you'd need to look at some reviews. It would be a big step up, even if you don't consider aspects like FSR 4.
