Corsair H100 on CM Storm Scout?

Hey there,

As part of my Ivy Bridge upgrade I'm considering new water cooling. I currently use ECO ALC (This was installed by my system builder, I got this as a sort of custom build from a company called Palicomp) and I'm not sure how well it would actually do for overclocking since I've never tried overclocking before (And I hope the new MSI Z77 Boards will be user friendly in this respect).

So I was considering the H100. Mainly because it was the only sealed Corsair system that OC3D recommends, and I'm not looking to do my own water cooling.

I have the Coolermaster Storm Scout, and I was wondering if it's possible for me to mount the dual rad on the side window. I know I must sound like a real noob here, and when it comes to hardware I usually am, I just pick things up here and there so I have no idea if the side window is appropriate!

Here's an image:

Failing that, what's the best single rad, sealed liquid cooling you would recommend that'd work well with my case? Or should I stick with the ECO ALC (if I don't get all my parts together on the big build day only to discover I'm missing some sort of required bracket that is!) considering I'm not really in to pushing my system to much.

Hell, I've been on this 2.67Ghz stock Bloomfield i7 920 for ages, a 3.4Ghz stock Ivy Bridge should satisfy me!

Thanks all.

Alright cheers guys, the H80 is also cheaper so I'm quids in! Besides the slight under performance compared to the H100. But ah well, a good step up from the cheap stuff I first got with this rig.

Also thanks for that video, makes me happy to see my future Mobo in use

If you're getting the H80, don't bother and buy a Noctua NH-D14.

That said, would Mushkin Redline Ridgeback RAM not cause problems with that? It's not too big but all I hear about with air CPU cooler (never had one before besides stock Packard Bell crap on my really old machine) is the poor RAM compatibility.

In fact it's time for another noob question again. Motherboard has 4 RAM slots but it's dual channel so for whatever reason I can only use two of them, right? Does it matter which colour I use? I guess I have to put them both in the corresponding colour, but does it matter if I put it in the black slots or the blue slots?

My previous experience with plugging something in a blue slot has been using Gigabyte's SATA controller instead of Intel's chipset one, which didn't give me great performance. So I'm being cautious :S

You can use all four of the RAM slots, if you are going for two though use the same colour for each. Your motherboard manual should say which slots to put them in.

I thought I needed Quad Channel support to use all 4 slots? I have Triple Channel at the moment and it uses 3 slots, and dual channel kits always come with 2 modules.

there are 4 DIMM slots they should be labled on the motherboard itself, a dual channel kit only works if you put it in DIMM 1 & DIMM 2, most of the time they are the 2nd and the 4th from the processor on 1155 boards.
