Hey there guys and girls.

I picked up 4gb of corsair DDR2 1066 ram cheap and have installed it on my m4a78 pro mobo. It is however only showing as 800mhz. How do I change this??

Thanks a million.

Ron

showing 800mhz in cpu-z or do you mean 400mhz as its dual channel?

go into the bios and change the RAM speed to 1066 then in CPUz it will show 533mhz

Aaah, that makes sense

I'll go look for it. I have AIDA 64 extreme but only trial.

Ok so it's working and I've run a couple runs of Lost Planet on max settings but as soon as I run COD MW2 it trips the whole pc and I have to unplug CPU and let it reset before I can restart:( what is goi g on ;(

Well, I have just installed a new PSU, RAM and HD6970.

It's all up and running at 3.4Ghz with a noctua Nh-D14 and is cool and runs Sacred 2 Max settings, Lost Planet Benchmark on Max, but as soon as I try run COD MW2 the whole PC trips. It turns totally off and I can't turn it on again before I unplug the power and plug it back in after 1min. It isn't the PSU, it handles stress test fine it just seems to be CoD:(

Any ideas??

That's an instability. At least it sounds like it, it's happened to me before.

Try upping your VCore a little. It worked for me.

If not, check your DIMM (Memory/RAM) Voltages.
