Computer malfunctions when under load

Hi guys my system components are:
MSI g45 z87
intel 4770k (stock fan)
Gigabyte 7970 3GD
PNY 16gb(2X8gb) 1600mhz
Corsair tx750w
Samsung ssd 120gb
my problem is whenever i open up a game or try windows system ratings my computer blacks out and doesn't revert back to normal screen and just stays like that. all the drivers on motherboard and gpu are up to date but when i pull it out put it on a friends computer my graphics card works and when i put his asus gtx670 in mine it works. Temps are normal on cpu and gpu and figured it wasn't a heating problem. wondering if anyone knows what the problem could be

I think you have a driver issue somewhere, I would go for a complete reinstall of OS and drivers and see if it continues.. Could also be a compatibility issue with your gpu and mb but I doubt it...

using the same:
monitor/monitor output cable?
PSU/PSU connections?
operating system/driver update?

Try reverting to an earlier version of AMD drivers. Sometimes the latest, isn't the greatest.
