I am so upset. I worked long and hard moding my case to look good. For some reason sense I have put on the UV molex's every time i turn on the black lights while the comp is running it shuts down. Now i have checked and rechecked and then checked again to make sure that i didnt flip the +12v and the +5v wires around in the molexs, and all are okay.

I am also having the same problem with a cooling fan on my GPU also. the speeds wont change now and if i flip the wires around, i get that nice electrical burning smell ( breath deep! Thats the OO smell! ) so I think the wires are not bad on that also....

So all in all the psu holds rails really good under prime using a multimeter ( goes down from 12.23 to 12.15 ) doesn t get hot, I hate to trash the PSU cuz it seems to serve me very well any clues?

Whar kind of PSU is it? I the pc just dying (as in *click* nosie then everthing turns off in a split second?

And is your GPU fan in a molex or somthing (Ala the Zalmans)?? I think wires being in the wrong places contributed to my last 7800GT blowing up. Be very carful with that.

sounds like a short circuit somewhere, had the problem when i fitted a switch wrongly, i stupidly set it so it was bridging the +ve and -ve rather than the +ve only  but yea, what psu is it? and is it ok if you put the switch to on before you boot the pc?

BFG make PSUs , learn something new every day.

Sounds liek you UV is shorting out somehow, as llwyd said. Strip it, check it and fix it:).

*woo 500 posts:)*

yes it is fine to turn the switches to on before i start up the comp and it runs great 24/7 as long as i dont trun them on while im in windows , this only happens while im in windows and not while im booting up which is strange also

It could be a safety measure after booting your comp it registers the power intake without the lights then when you switch them on it "thinks" that useless extra power is being drawn and shuts down?.
