COD 4 Server, call votes

Hi everyone.

Today i was playing, i was the best of the server until i got votekicked aparently for being a "cheater".

My suggestion: why not disable the calling of votes? It happened with me but it can happen with anyone in the same conditions, its simply not fair.

Oh, and im temporarily banned as well... -_-'

I was on earlier and every time map changed there would always be a vote.. Got annoying after a while..

If it's any use, the map votes very rarely work (if at all). Unfortunately the kick votes do (afaik).

Paperless - I know exactly what you mean, you do get people who just call votes non-stop for the sake of annoying people. Unfortunately, this has been happening a LOT over the Christmas break (co-incidental with school-break?!?!) no offence intended for the sensible ones!

Ah same thing happens to me almost everytime I play.

The funny thing is alot of blatant cheaters never get votes passed.

oh well hopefully something can be done. not sure disabling votes is the answer without the servers being pb enabled and streaming.

Take the vote bannage as a compliment.

Not sure if you'd be able to do this on COD4 , but on CS:S a server i play on has it so that vote banning doesn't work if an admin is on. It might stop some of the pointless voting.

Happened to me a few times with Jim in the server. The funniest bit, was that after the vote failed on me a few times...they tried to kick Jim.

Yeah twas quite funny...especially considering I was doing pretty pants at the time. Not exactly a threat to anyone's XP or anything :s

Something really has to be done about server #1

I went in there today, and had to leave after around 5 minutes. There's so much voting, swearing, aimbotting etc

It's just not fun anymore.

I notice server 2 was empty today and #1 was totally packed. Due to PB being enabled on #2?

Good, I was wondering why PB hasn't been enabled... hopefully that can cut down on some cheating.

#2 server does die down early early hours but it has picked up now, punkbuster is still not detecting that bot you show there on the screenshots. I have posted details how to kick for that bot on the other thread hopefully that will be added.

#1 server is very bad as you said above still, I have 4 demo recordings form last night clearly showing different players using aimbots but without pb being enabled I dont really want to post them as there is no real way to tell exactly who it was. For example it would be very easy for somebody to join with the name realitybytes and use an aimbot in the hopes to get me banned. One of the demos I have is of a player's name who comes on these forums and plays under the same name although I dont know them I do not think it is the same person in the demo.

#2 server has taken a slight hit in traffic since enabling PB but it is not to any serious extent I think once the configs are in place that kick for mombot I am sure it will take an extra hit. But it will give extra credability to that server and players might migrate form #1. That is if the configs are put online as jim stated he is testing with #2 to see how it pans out.

Can some rules/safegaurds be put in place for screenshots and demos, as it seems very easily open to abuse from the senario I explain above.

deffo have punkbuster on both/all servers fully updated etc. and is there extra mods like on css such as css has zblock, steambans etc.

Not sure if we are on the same lines but www.punksbusted.com and www.pbbans.com both offer for download and for streaming community submitted ban lists.

The trouble with those is that they can be wrong. People who don't hack can be banned from lots of servers.

It might be good to have them as a sort of check list, so it notifies you if someone is on the list, giving you a heads up to watch them.

Or if someone is suspected it could be more evidence against them - although, if they were falsely banned on that list its probably because they are quite good.

I can understand why you would think such a thing but from being active within those two sites in the past I can confirm that nobody ends up on those lists without just cause.

It is not just anything can be submitted nor can just any information be used before somebody is banned in order to end up on either of those sites it reuiqres a couple things in place.

Firstly the game servers must be streaming that is in real time the server logs are uploaded to each of those sites then if any violation is submitted from any server admins those logs are checked verified and hashed, it then goes up for vote and if you look at the link below you will see what is required and it needs to be the original image that can be hash verified by the logs which have been streamed to the sites in the first place. It is a failry fail safe list of bans. Alot of evidence is required before you end up on either of those sites lists. Do you know of anybody who has been added to any of those lists who shouldnt have been? And can say with 100% that is fact?

Do we have the names on any of the admins for these two servers? I've never played on the first one but I'm quite active on the second and I too got one of those vote kicks/temp ban on me today again... Quite enoying really
