Thermaltake rips off Caselabs Designs

Thermaltacky

ThermalCopy

ThermalRipoff

ThermalLazy

ThermalSliping

LOL

i agree, nothing wrong with buying cases to see what competition is doing but come on, copying them, almost identical design is certainly wrong.

I bet they went as far as copying the way parts are interchangeable to the point where they could be used in either of the two manufacturers cases.

Its like they wanted to show the cases have been copied :cussing: :cussing:

I hope Caselabs does something about this. not liking at all.

Setup a petition :D

And let's face it, PC building is totally 100% fashion these days. Braided cables, coloured heatsinks, it never ends.
Oh true, but what is in fashion was started by someone/some company and then was gradually modified by others.

What I should be trying to say is I think it has the potential to cause more damage to the market by showing that you don't have to try to get sales, there are plenty of other people who have ideas to use . This would be in the long term if they get away with it. Which admittedly, they probably won't.

Anyway, Thermaltake have proven in the past they can be original (apparently..). I'd love more individual designs in the case market and ffs, they could atleast try. Look how trying worked out for people like Inwin (for the most part..), Lian Li and Silverstone! Yes, some of their designs look like someone has in hailed a bit too much paint thinner then watched Transformers but in pushing the boundary of design we've had some cool stuff. They can ask quite the price for them too. Corsair also seem to have done well by making their own stuff.

TLDR: Thermaltake stop trying to be everyone and make your own stuff. Be inspired by designs that are popular but actually improve them. Improve actually means improve, not plaster with cheap plastic and panel gaps.

100% agreed

This is why i don't like Thermaltake cause all they seem to do is copy the other companies and they think it's ok to do some and also the funny thing is there going to cost more like the FD copy case that case is going to cost more than the FD one.

I can smell a law suit coming maybe from Caselabs or Swifttech or FD or maybe the whole 3 and if those companies join up and sue Thermaltake i will say good hopefully that might teach Thermaltake a lesson.

Bugger... I have 2 tt core x9’s stacked and was looking to get 2 of the White ones when they become available in oz... Didn't know any of the back story... I really thought TT had turned a corner with the core series ...if you look at individual products it doesn't look that bad or obvious, but when you put them all together , well the engravings on the wall don't lie.. Shame shame , their chief designer was named well..rob ...personally I've always wanted a caselabs enclosure, but the postage alone to Australia exceeds the price of most cases.. Thankfully we now have an online retailer here who now stocks them.. You still have to wait, can't get the full customisation and the price is steep, but at least it's an option... Back on topic ..TT appear to have been slowly plagiarising with little kickback, but this 'new' line at computex is the final straw ... Moving forward we can only hope this frag fest shakes things up a bit.. There have always been 'similarities' with some manufacturers but this is too blatant to go ignored..

Caveat Emptor

it seems that thermaltake/tacky are the hongda of the pc case world. i want a caselabs now myself but out of principle i would not get a imitation such as this. there is no innovation here just a blatant rebadge job without the same level of quality material and manufacturing. its just sad.
