Not as bad as I imagined tbh, but it is pretty bad, but I would just replace the fan and clean the rest up with some 409 or equivalent household cleaner.

Not that bad tbh, a old smoker`s pc turns almost as bad. I think I`d strip it down and find that most of the gunked up stuff is non electrical - fans fins, coolers, grills. The dust and oil will make up most of the clog as it combines (in a similar way to dust and a smoker).

The case will be easy.

What u might think of, seeing as the pc probably aint oc`d and a real work-horse, is to note the intake places about the case, and stick some fan filter thingies in there. I`d be tempted to get one of those kitchen convection filter replacements and cut it up - it`ll be the right grade for a cooking environment.

You could probably buy a new system for how much time it would take to clean, altho it's not as bad as I thought from what you said.

Also intel socket7's hardly ever overheated (I remember loads of AMD's overheating tho).

I used to replace fans on systems that had been running 24/7 with the fan not working (and they'd still work).

I've seen pc's worse than that which work no problem on farms etc.

Hi guys

My friend had a pc in his kitchen (Chinese take away) and now its just full cover with oil. So I just wonder any chance can I clean them with warm water and detergent(A mother board, ram, hsf...e'rything).

Isopropyl alcohol! 99% isopropyl is so pure you can soak all the parts in it and if you let them dry properly they'll be fine.

The kithchen it very clean but the owner have no clue how to keep his pc clean, that's why. It's been about 11 yrs old that pc I mean.

Once the board has been discharged of all residual current (and the battery removed), a thorough scrub with a soft bristled toothbrush and very mild detergent will be fine. Place the motherboard in a well ventilated place with some sort of heat lamp to assist with evaporating residual liquid, and remember to keep turning the motherboard over every so often.

Until brown on both sides... But be careful not to burn!
