Hi all,as title says its a cheap build no big bucks stuff just stuff ive used in my other builds and a few new bits added.
It still does the job so while it works it goes in.
How the old case looked before ,nothing posh or brilliant just a tidyish build.

Thats where i am at the mo,waiting for a few bits to finish it of.
As you can tell in the pics there is some old kit in there but it still works.
If and when funds become available will update the board chip and card.
Thanks for looking :)

That's killer. Spikes made me lol. I can imagine stabbing myself reaching over to turn the rig on :D

Love how you have done the res.

tbh i think you did a great job in taking a plastic cheap 540 and boosting it up to look like a good quality caselab.

Of course its all personal opinion, but I would never feel comfortable having the res outside. It would have been cool if you managed to have it half in half out though while still being able to fill it.

It's funny because as a modder I look at that and my brain starts taking it apart and breaking it down into components. I used some of those ano standoffs, and they are not cheap ! Especially if you buy them from the UK. You've done a fantastic job though there dude. I love how you took something cheap and available and made it look like a £600 Mountain Mods case. Very, very cool. I think I am decided now. If I ever ditch my AW case and go custom I want a cube. The amount of water I could fit in it makes me go "oooooo".

Just not a 540. Its pretty crap for water. If you want good cooling that is. you get a 360 and 240. For me thats not overkill enough!

No parcel today,so why i still wait for bits thought i would pop in a single cathode i found in one of my boxes :)

This is why I can't get away from my CL M8 cube, and I've tried. I think I will be in this case until I die. I've tried other cases because they were prettier, but I couldn't do it. Even a 420 and a 360 is not enough. Not compared to 4 360s and a 240 anyway.

Oh I've had a cube dude. Back in 2000. It was awesome. One chamber had my MSG440X (dual slot 1 xeon motherboard) and the other had the PSU and drives etc. So yeah, well aware of the benefits.

I've got a few rads. A 240 BP, 120 fat Coolgate and a couple of others. I would probably hide the 120s in the hidden chamber at the back.

Any way, apologies for the slight thread hijack OP, that is what happens when you innovate :D
