Chasing Dreams

I'm afraid that corner is impossible :p I tried éverything. But getting the U-channel nicely cut to fit in the corner can't be done. And the corner is júst a little too sharp to take it directly with u-channel. The top left corner of that triangle was already very very véry close. There's not even enough contact with the side panel to glue it on. So I'm afraid this is going to be it... I hope it doens't spoil the whole thing

lol it most certainly doesn't. It still looks hella good, I just have a nit-picky eye for detail is all. If it isn't concealed then I tend to obsess over it until I can get it right, otherwise my head explodes x-). I admit I'd prolly have had just as hard a time of lining that up properly as you did. Did you try a mitre saw kit to match up the angles?

I can match up the angles, but the U-channel can't go much further than the edge of the corner, because the 'U' has to grip around the metal. To match it up, it would have to go quite a lot further than that. Cutting the u-channel so it can slide further through looks like sh*t.
Cutting a little seperate piece to put in the corner also didn't work. (duh, but was worth the try)

I really tried :p I love the details too. I bought extension cables to sleeve them heatshrinkless because the already sleeved cables I have, had heatshrink that was a milimeter uneven at some places. Not even visible if you didn't really searched for it :p that's how picky I am. But some things I just can't do. I wish I had a professional modding shop with waterjet cutters or something, haha :p one can only dream

You know, you could make the window look really clean if you just cut out that line in the top right altogether ;).

It would make the angles of the corners much more open up there, and would enable you to make the U-channel look seamless.

You're absolutely right :p but what about the 'original' design then? Wouldn't it just become another big window cut out?
I think I'll wait until the watercooling is in. Maybe that line ís too obstructive...

My Corsair AX850 just died on me. 2 years and one month old. Suddenly everything went dark :(
I tried a different psu and that worked. Tried the ax850 on another pc and that didn't work. Dead PSU. Starting RMA...

Yup that happens sometimes even with brand new stuff.
In my case it was a 2 months old Cooler Master 1000 watt PSU.
Heard a POOF and then something rattled around in the fan blades and that was the end of it.
Anyways, RMA and got a new one.

About the rad bending the frame problem, if you take a 1mm thick metal sheet 2 inches high and the full width of the front of the case,
wouldent that spready the force better over a wider area?

Like so:

supportbar.jpg

(the red is the support bar)

This way you take the stress off the top screws since the rad will be hanging down from the support bar, that has to be 1mm at least to be tough enough.

Allee! doen dan?

I have some side panel pieces that'll go nicely there maybe :) need to get the holes drilled right though :p

One peice of sidepanel will be to thin i think so make at least 3 so together they form a solid mass.
Also, i would make one smaller peice that fits in the cutout you did so it levels up the area between the beam and the new fan-plate you added to the case.

I found these when I got home today :D

24pin and 6pin extension that I forgot to order ^^
