Chasing Dreams

I've got kind of a big update here...

Leds for cpu block

Glueing plexi time!

Meanwhile I did the graphics card, which was a true pita. Never again.

Cleaning went ok, but then... Getting the block on took me a long time. Then the screws at the back turned out to be sticking out to far to put a backplate on. I really wanted a backplate, so I really needed a solution. I took it apart again and re-mounted it with the little things from the inside now at the back and the big ones on the inside, plus I used shorter screws without the metal spacer.
The result was that it barely fits, as you can see.

EK told me their backplate for the gtx670 directcuII would fit on the 660Ti directcuII, no problem.
It doesn't. Problem. Nothing keeps the black screws (there's another one on the other side) in. So I'll have to go find little thingies to bolt on on this side.

Meanwhile in the realms of glue

Still a mess at the back :p

Getting quite close huh :p

To do:
- 24 hour leak-testing.
- connecting everything + cable management.
- do something with the drive bay?

Only thing is, I've got to go to Rome (Italy) for a couple of weeks. So finishing it will be for after that. Cheers!

Good news! It's under water! No leaks! 24h leak checking and getting-all-the-bubbles-out in progress...

This is how the lighting underneath turned out:

The led on the right of the cpu block is dead however :( replacement is on the way :p

Looks epic! The only hose that I don't like as much is the one on the left of the raystorm. Other than that it's really, really, really neat and gorgeous :D
Great job! :)

Thank you ^^ I feel the same about that giant piece of hose, but it had to be done. A 'crossflow' 30mm thick radiator would be great :p in/outlet on both sides I mean.

Aah, ok! Sorry 'bout that. I Must have missed the post where you said that

In the last post with multiple pics :p no problem mate, I miss a lot of things all the time xp
The strange thing is that the led suddenly started working again... Not as bright as the other one maybe, but at least it's working for some final shots of today :p

just one word.. EPIC! :worship:

congratulations!

Thank you :D

You sure you can't just swap those 2 hoses from the CPU block? Would look a lot neater.
Other than that, this has been an amazing build to follow, and I had great fun watching all the pics! Thanks for posting! :)

I dunno, it says 'in' on the right side, so I listened to the block :p
I searched for peeps with the same 'problem' on the interwebs, but didn't really find an answer.

dude, that's freakin' awsome!..

only thing you have 'to do' is to repaint the yellow accents on the board to white :P hehe

(it's a joke!)

well done mate! lots of hard work usually ends like this, an epic build!

congratulations again..

Well thats not a problem, don't swap the hoses, dismount the waterblock, turn it 180° and mount it again, mounting holes look symmetrical, should pose no problem

Thanks for the kind words! And yeah haha, I know. I promised myself that the next time it gets drained, I'm painting those yellow bits :D (and some time of the warranty of the board has past)

That's indeed the easiest way. But then the writing 'Raystorm' will be upside down. I can't have upside down writing in there :p

Wow, that really is bloody marvellous!

I would at least give this a try and see how your temps are. I think I recall TTL also
reversing the inlet and outlet on Orca to get a neater loop layout, he didn't seem
to notice a remarkable effect on temps.

And agreed about the upside-down writing, that would be a nono for me as well...
