Can't Overclock!!!!

Hey guys, I've been trying to over clock for a while now....with no success....im a complete newbie to overclocking so go easy on me

Right, so I go into Extreme Tweaker in BIOS, then Set fxb memory clock mode to unlinked,

Then i jiggle about with FSB QDR MHz: set it to 1070 from 1066

And MEM DDR MHz: set it to 670 from 667.

But when I reboot, after saving the changes, it's changed back to default!!! Woot lyk...

So i need some help. Am I doing the right thing or completely off track?

Have you read all the stickies in the forum about overclocking? Have you disabled all the auto CPU throtling things in the BIOS?

Might be named something slightly different depending on the mobo but normally roughly the same.

we have similar boards mate,mine is the plus version.what bios are you using?I tried the latest one and that would not let me o/c at all,so i ended up going back to the 801 bios and am sitting at 3ghz

ye thanks for the help, no mine's not the plus version, the normal one, and I have BIOS 1401, i think....

try going back to an older bios,the new ones suck ass big time

just put you cpu at 1.34v fsb 1333 and away you go at 3ghz(in theory)

hey, what version would u say would be best for that? Any p5n32-sliers wanna comment?

Hm....I just found out I can overclock using AI Boost.....is that better/worse than adjusting in BIOS?

Also, I have the standard fan for intel e6600, on a q6600, that's ok right? And what's a safe parameter for overclocking 3ghz?2.8? Also voltage is left to auto that's ok right?
