Cant get mic to fecking work *vista*

Damn it creative!!!!!

X fi + vista ultimate....32bit

Basically before camp...my mic worked (had to turn off digital out, plug mic in afai can remember). It used to work. Now it refuses to detect any sound coming through which basically means i'm gonna get kicked out of my clan if i cant sort it soon :/

Has anyone got any ideas?

Did you go into the Sound settings in Control Panel?

If not, go there and go to the recording tab, and make sure you disable all other options besides your Creative input for the mic.

Ok it shows sound when i first insert the jack and when i shout REALLY loud or blow into it...ive gone onto monitoring mode (unmute mic) and i can just about hear myself if i make a lot of noise (it has a lot of interference and this is with volume maxed out)

If you have onboard sound, install the drivers and test your mic using on board jacks.

If you want a quick cheap replacement get a Logitech precision gaming headset. I use it and the mic is crystal clear, people are always asking what mic I'm using

RMA ur headset mate! Obviously broken and they sent me a new headset without much hassle. The Medusa mic is used by a number of the OC3D CSS clan 0usually have perfect clarity!

My medusas were crap, decent mic n sound, but ive had two sets in the last 5-6 months and both had issues after a while, so ive baught some Razer Barcudars and so far the seem better, more precist for gaming aswel.

Do you reckon i could pay the extra and get progamers as the normal edition is annoying with the extra amp etc.
