Ive been tweaking my comp lately and am currently at 4.2 stable. i was thinking of seeing how high I can take my ocz gold rev 2. My first question is every time i set my multi. to 15 or 14 it just stays at 16. How do I change this? Second, anyone have any experiences with my ram. Just want an idea for vdimm and how high it should go. Thanks guys :D

ok mate you cant actually change the multi on a P4 .. i need more info on the OCZ to determine what chips it has and tell you the max voltage i would use

Yep afaik the Asus motherboards were the only mobo manufacturer to enable multiplier adjustment through their bios. I have only heard of it being available on certain processors within the 5** range. :)

Really? I dont think thats right. My board gives me the option to switch the multi. Why would they give you the setting then not let you?

nope its the chipset.

u need 915 or 925x at least to be able to use EIST .
yea and then its only lowering the multi... i believe an 875 Abit board (dont ask me which i saw it in an ad) allows lowering of the multi via use of an APIC

wow that sucks. i think there is software that will do it. pcnerd has an 865 abit and he changed the mult w/ software.

If you find it send it over here :D

There is a certain revision of processor (i'll look it up) that allows the multi to be set to x14 as long as the motherboard supports it (Abit AS8, DFI 875P-T and newer chipset boards)

I obviously don't have that revision, because it won't change on mine :(

Yeah, google the x14 multi. There is a certain part of your processors Serial no that needs to be something in order for the x14 multi to work (on 5xx series chips at least).

There is software to change it in windows that does work,I have tested it.You need the EIST mod and clockgen to us it.I will look for the links and post back.

EDIT:I cant find the EIST mod now but the clockgen for the 875p-t is ics952607.I was able to do this with the clockgen and EISTMod on air.

I tried using EIST but couldn't get that kind of overclock, because if I set it at 4.8GHz like you did it won't boot into Windows, and to change the multiplier you need to be in Windows lol

You do? Which version of ClockGen do you use? It doesn't have a version for the 875P-T but obviously one of them works because you've done it.

EDIT: Got one that works, thanks heaps :D
