Hey Guys ! so im starting a Little projekt whit my C70 Vengeance and need to paint a few details on it. the problem is im not sure if i can paint ontop of the existing powder coat or if i should try and sand it down the few places i need to paint.. just afraid if i start sanding it i could damage some of the powder coat that i dont want to paint over and then end up repainting the whole ting.. really like the powder coat so it would be a shame if i had to repaint it completely..

so the question is: Can i paint on top of powder coat and if yes, how should i go about it?

Yes you can, If there won't be much chance of you scratching it then just strait paint it. For it to really stick well you should sand it a little as you would any surface you would paint.

not nessaraly just clean the area you want to paint. personally i would use an airbrush on powdercoat no need to sand then :D

or you can stencil the design use low tack tape then sand what is stencilled and then use any paint you want for the design :D

Of course you need to sand it. If you don't create a key for the paint to grip into you're asking for it to peel or flake off.
