why do you need a cylinder res and a bay res?

EDIT: also why the 3820 and not a 3930k?

Hi, I do not need both reservoirs, i just think it will look good? Maybe I will end up selling the bay res and just get a big cylinder? As for the gtx's, I did intially have loads of trouble, but since i switched from Amd to Intel (about a month ago) I have had no probs since. Thanks Glen

That will more than likely be my next buy? Need to wait till I get my accessories from caselabs before I start making final decisions? Also I do not need six cores!!! Thanks Glen

if you don't need 6 cores than honestly ivy is probably a better choise, but the other thing is that the 3930k has an unlocked multiplier so it will overclock better than the 3820

Hi, I already purchased the 3820 along with the board about six weeks ago. Had I done more research I probably would have got the 3930K. I may upgrade later. Thanks Glen

Hi, I do not do a lot with my PC. Some overclocking & benching plus a few games, play blu rays and just general browsing. The 3770k & 3930k are different platforms I believe? I have the 3820 which is plenty more guts than I need. Thanks Glen

No sense in trying to persuade him to buy different parts now, he already has everything. Sure a 3930K or a 3770K would have been ideal, but what's done is done and this looks like a nice build he has coming along. Keep us updated!

Hi, I will do, thanks for looking & commenting. i am still very much a novice so all input & feedback are much appreciated. as I pointed out to Josh 3770K & 3930K are different platforms, or at least i think they are. Thanks Glen

the 3770k is 1155 and the 3930k is 2011 so you could upgrade to the 3930k but given what you use your computer for it probably isnt worth spending 600$ on a new chip.

That is what I thought too. In initially I bought a 3770K & a rampage iv extreme, not realising they were different platforms. So i gave the 3770K to my son and got him a maximus iv extreme and then got 3820 for myself.

wanna adopt me :D

looking forward to seeing the build come together, love the sth10.

Hi All, Should be getting my accessories from Caselabs & other bits n bobs from Special take this week. I am thinking of getting a Asrock X79 Extreme11 has anyone used one or know much about them lol

Hi, My Accessories from Caselabs finally arrived yesterday. Nothing to do with the guys at Caselabs, my kit only took four days from ordering to get from the states to the UK, it is our customs & post office that has delayed things. Anyhow, I will take pics of my new kit that is going into the build uploaded later today. I did get the Asrock X79 Extreme11 & I am now only waiting for the Bitfenix Recon fan controller & splitter cables to arrive before I get started. I did end up paying import duties/vat on my case £47.48 on the actual case & £25.52 on my accessories. case was delivered via Fedex who billed me after delivery. Accessories via USPS mail then taken over by our post office who unlike Fedex charge a £8.00 admin fee. So I suggest if you are ordering buy everything at the same time.
