[Build Log] Project Mini Me - M-ATX Phantom, 3820, RIVG, 7970, watercooled

Looking good! I've noticed that all your fans are on exhaust though?

Also, will you still be able to plug the actual power cable into the PSU this way? :p I'm sure that bulge in the front panel will help a bit but...?

Either way, looking good :)

i hope someone in the nzxt headquaters will seen this.
and gets inspired to design and bring a m-atx phantom to the market.

Best nzxt case mod i've ever seen :notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

The fans are just on there for Mockup; I'll move 'em around when things are finalized

Haha Thanks! Yeah the guys at NZXT know about my build ;).

So I do have a good update on this build!

I decided to use an Apogee Drive II after all, purely for aesthetics (for the lit logo to match my Komodo blocks and g1/4" ports insteasd of barbs), but since I already sold my previous, I sold the H220 and ordered a new APD2 and an MCR220-QP. I am also trading my RIVG for an MSI 7970 reference, and will be buying another RIVG at a later date. I'm doing this because my 3820 is dead. I'll likely replace it with another 3820, though, if funds show up, I may pick up a 4820K or 4930K :thumb:.

I'm also debating about adding an MCR120-QP on the rear fan mount, though I'm not 100% sold on it yet. I do plan on getting the XSPC RIVG chipset blocks as well, since they won't get much airflow and mobo block are Boss.

I believe I'm going to ditch the P820 HDD cage and put something else in that space as well, though I'm still contemplating what.

Well done for pulling this off dude, looks awesome! I would probably sand and repaint that front bezel just because of the finish on the bottom (but hey! that's just me) Looks great though dude! ^_^

Still a lot to do on the bezels mate ;). Front still needs another coat of bondo and some other small changes before final paint.

BTW, I forgot to mention that I will soon be an honorary NZXT warrior... because I have a helmet on the way!

About time! Needs more progress pics though :(

Sorry to hear about your CPU.

Thanks for the condolences, and I'm trying! I just have a lot of stuff going on, like an SG05 build for a friend :D.

My old XFX 750w psu with shortened/sleeved cables, i5 3550S, GTX 560 ti, 8 gb Gskill, Asrock b75 mobo, and Corsair H70 core with Swiftech Helix all in the tiny Sugo

That's all for today :D

Hey,
Have you had the chance to test the XFX 850 PSU?
I was considering it for one of my builds, I quite like the looks and the fully modular part for cable sleeving. :)

Thanks

Nope, it just works! Lol. Actually my only dislike is the 4 double wires in the 24 pin and the 2 pcie plugs per cable. It took a while but I de-pinned them to run 1 pcie plug per cable for better aesthetics and easier sleeving. This is my 3rd XFX PSU and all of them have been great. The OEM is Seasonic.

Hm, interesting!
Glad you got around that issue ^^ and thanks for the input.

Keep up the great work, can't wait for the end result :)
