Big Red Resurrection [Switch 810, RIVE, 3930k, Crossfire 7950's, Corsair EVERYTHING!]

Mhm if you don't want to use any fans inside your tower ram + chipset + mosfet + gpu + cpu should be all full cooled. But for normal usage CPU + GPU and mayby mosfet in combination of some slow fans should be enough.

Yeah... I was planning to watercool the ram, since this ram runs warm, and it also will not get much airflow. But Tom doesn't seem to like watercooled ram.

It's not if you're running 2400+ dimms and have no fans or high heatspreaders they can get really fucking hot.

He's running a 3930k - he'll never get his RAM up to 2400mhz. Plus he's using dominators with big heatspreaders, and will have exhaust fans in the roof drawing air over them.
And they may get hot to touch, but they need to get seriously hot to actually cause any damage to the RAM.

It never needs to be watercooled.

Except I've stated several times. I was planning to do the watercooling on the ram for asthetics. I might just get Dominator Platinums instead.

Not in this case. Y

DDR3 doesnt need watercooling.

The End.

Show me 2400 stock DIMMS without heatspreaders up to the job?

If you actually see what surface area the waterblock cools you will see what nonsense you speak.

OP-Im all for a highspec rig power rig but throwing money away is not cool, those Dom GT's are plenty fast enough

Even the 2600mhz ram doesnt need wc. so i totaly agree with you, it doesnt even need a ram fan!

You really that bothered about it that you'd replace all your RAM for Platinums?
Oh, I would never waste money like that, unless I could sell the ram off ahead of time.

I don't think I've ever fully mentioned this, but as you will see half way through the build, I decided to split this build into two completely separate builds. One is a workstation, and one will be gaming. It will make much more sense later. The Dominator GT's will follow the gaming rig, while the Platniums would be for the workstation.

Anyways... Build pics!!

CPU in the socket. I really love this picture for some reason.
