BF3

Why not get another 6870 and go Crossfire? Way more powerful than sticking to any other single card within your budget. That's just my opinion.

At what point he said that bf3 is amd optimised lol ?

WOW really!?

They never say whether or not they are, but when a video like this is out it's almost always guaranteed that it will be optimized for what ever party did the interview. Crysis 2 was the EXACT same way for Nvidia. You have to use your brain a little.

If this were true you're probably going to have to provide more than one example as one example isn't really a trend. Also, Nvidia touted that Crysis 2 was Nvidia optimised, but AMD has said absolutely nothing about having one of the biggest FPS's of the holiday season optimized for their graphics cards? I doubt it. AMD aren't geniuses but they're not idiots either.

This also doesn't explain why pretty much every live demo of Battlefield 3 has been running on a gtx580 rather than, say, a 6970. You'd think AMD would be pretty adament they use their cards in demo's if they had paid millions to DICE/EA to optimize their game to their GPU's. (nVidia had to pay EA $2 million for Crysis 2 optimization)

I think its considerably more likely, and the general word around the EA forums tends to back this up, that BF3 isn't sponsored or optimized specifically for one company over the other. They both have BF3 optimized drivers, equivalent cards work, essentially, the same in benchmarks and both companies have had BF3 publicity (AMD got an interview, Nvidia gets live demoing privileges).

Really, its clutching at straws to say that its guaranteed that AMD have BF3 optimization based on nothing but the fact they once did a 2 minute interview with EA's community manager.

I'm not saying BF3 definitely isn't AMD optimized but you're going to have to offer better evidence than that.

my opinion for anyone, get the cheapest reference pcb of a GTX 570 or 580, they are awesome cards and the reference pcb will allow more options in the future.
