Bent GPU

until recent, i just notice my 560 DC2 TOP is bent by its own weight.

i heard something that can keep the cards(inc. GPU, soundcard, etc) from bending. however, i cant get anything from the net.

anyone know how to prevent this or a solution to this?

Thanks in advance.

I would just try and prop it up with something. The weight of that card leaning on the PCI-E slot won't do it any good either. Have you tried taking it out re-seating and screwing it in, some people do the screw so tight it moves the card alignment a bit and causes it to be a bit bent. Some cases do come with GPU support structures which hold the card up but they are only available to cases which come with them at stock (to my knowledge). Good luck, sorry I can't be of more help.

A good trick is to pull the card up using the PCI-E Power cables. Works a treat.

thanks, ryan.

i will try to reseat the card at this weekend. from what i see, my card seem like bend (more like slanted) beyond it can reverse back its shape.

i think i should put a pic for you all to see how serious.

thanks, toxicity. seem like good idea. will try that too.

I had a similar issue with my MSI 6970 Lightning, the weight of the cooler was bending the card and pulling it off contact with the processor. I used a bit of string just to tie up the corner to the top of my case, looks ghetto but works till I find something better

thanks, FTR and johnbonson.

before i buy the cardkeeper, i will try some other ways 1st as the shipping fee seem like very expensive for me.

need to ship to malaysia

I have a triple slot 570 that did bend so I've got it held up with Ninja Wire. Only cost a few pounds. I did cut mine to length though (because it's wire and therefore metal) and wrapped it in electricians tape. xx

Yes , its true that 90 bucks on shipping fee for one card keeper is *beeeep* expensive !!!

But you can inspire from the card keeper and try to manufacture something in the same style !

I'am actually thinking about making one myself !

Cheers !

And as always , have a nice day !

Or you could make your own cardkeeper...... Just meassure the hight and then find some suiteable material to make it from.....

thats a brilliant idea!!

then, we can start to post the pic of our home made cardkeeper here.

thanks for the brilliant idea.

start to look for the material.

I got a little idea , putting it on paper an figure out if it works ???!

plastic , metal , plexiglass , acrylic ......?

it also has to be compatible with liquid and aircooled cards !

imo, try to get a working home made unit 1st. then improve it.

for the material, i'm thinking of using a combination of metal (aluminium) and plexiglass (or plastic, depends on avaibility in my place).

Mine is going to be all out of plexiglass (dont know which colour yet ) or put some 3M carbon fiber on it

To be continued .....

I almost brought a Raven RV03 because i didn't like my card bending, the orientation on the motherboard tray means that the card cannot bend

I nearly bought that case , i love it !

But since i watercool its not possible and i dont like external rads .

So i just keep my 600T and make me a card keeper !

Cheers !
