My 3930k was the same,but ivy imc is so much better at handling 2400mhz+.
My experience is,that 2011 is better of with older dominator gt`s with elpida under the hood.My ageing 1600mhz easily do 2200mhz at 9-11-9-26-1t at 1.65v and 2400mhz 10-11-10-27-1t 1.68v.
 
I can get my ripjawsz 2133 up to 2400 but the brothers team xtreem 2600 wont go past 2400
been trying for ever and gave up
seen the team xtreems doing 2600 on a duel core setup so I know they can do it
 
Have team extreem 2400mhz 9-11-11-28-1t running very well on my 3770k,and i wanted 2666mhz c10 team extreems but they are so freakin expensive,corsair doms platinums looks like todays bargain.
The kingston 2400mhz c11 would only run at rated specs on my 3930k 4.5ghz+ with some tweaks to vccsa and vccio with temps going up stupidly high.
 
it's the 2666 c10 i refer to when i say 2600
the most i got out of them was 2500, but it constantly bsods anywhere above 2400
I haven't got into ivybridge yet
still using the big bang marshal and 2600k on 1155
should move on really
 
Yeah,really should move on to ivy,and there is a really good chance to get a decent 3770k compared to 2600k/2700k.
And i couldnt get my 2400mhz to run whatsoever with cpu on dice.Think the imc dont like the cold at all,but my elpida dominators worked like charmed ones.
 
I think I'm right in saying that 2400Mhz is pretty much the limit for SB-E anyway, it doesn't react to the cold in the same way that most chips do so going colder doesn't really help with it :(

Shame really that we have to wait until 2014 for Ivy-E to come out, seems a little pointless really since the Ivy platform will nearly be 2 generations old by then with Broadwell coming out not that long after it :(

Hope to get myself an MPower Z77 or a UP7 board along with a 3770K to do some 3D benches, will have to wait until after christmas now though of course :(

Eddie are you going to be going down to Sussex at the end of the month to have some LN2 fun with the boys at OCN???
 
My new z77-up7 died on me after some light preliminary testing at 5ghz.It had some funny temp and voltage readings in hwmonitor.LLC at extreme settings vcore dropped 0.22v doing cinebench 11.5,where my M5G is rocksolid at same voltage all the way through the benchmark.Rebooted and it never came alive again,tried all things possible to get it work again.It wont even try booting,no debug led,not even a little sqeek from a fan.Thought it had killed my 3770k,but its running fine again on my M5G.
Massive failure in just 10min.

Ahh man that sucks, hope you can get an RMA sorted pretty easily as that is a very expensive board to have die on you. Hopefully when you get a replacement we can see you bringing in some really high scores!!!!! :)

I were to get my two hd5970 in xfire,but hope i can get it sorted within this year,but i really doubt it.
 
Hi guys,

I have been away for a while and not got any decent kit left - had to downgrade (not that i scored much anyway)
for some months and now have space (wife) issues :)

I now have one of these Samsung GC700 I do not want to OC just yet but need advice / guidance on what tests I can run to help the team out.

I will need to redownload all apps / software in order to run tests so a gentle memory jog would also be nice.

Finally i have a 8gb gskill tridentx 2666mhz c10 kit in my direction.Hope to do some benches next week on my M5G.
Sadly the rma on the up7 will take some time.
 
Found a decent gtx295 ^_^,716mhz on cores but only 1149mhz on vram.
And my new gskill tridentx 2666mhz rams will do 9-11-11-29-1T at 2600mhz:lol:.
Having some dice-fun right now:cool:
