Well with me being 17 and being tight on money, I fought being added as a named driver on one of my parents insurance policy would be good for the meanwhile so I could do a bit of Christmas shopping instead of public transport which is a pain in the a**.

So got me old man to ring up AXA to see if they could add me as a named driver and get a quote to see how much it would cost, but once the age came out it was a immediate NO! They wouldn't even let me take out a policy of my own.

Its upsetting really because not every young person is a bloody chav wanting to impress friends

Yes I am inexperienced and more prone to accidents but some of the quotes I was getting, £30.000 was the most expensive I found

. F****** joke.

my first year was 1600

second year 1292

third year 3003

next year im expecting 1900

i have 3 points and two crashes, both declared my fault (even though both wernt)

i have a 2010, 59 plate seat ibiza 1.4 tdi

Nice, my mate has a 2010 fiesta thats over the 2000 grand mark.

first car I'm looking at is just a Vauxhall Corsa 2003 nothing really special, nice little car.

i had the choise of the new polo, new fiesta, new corsa, or new ibiza ...

polo was a bit too expensive for what it was

fiesta...ford...rust...no, plus the interior was awful

corsa, interior was so smart, it was gorgeous, but the exterior was awful

and the ibiza, cheapest, most efficient, nicest to drive, second nicest interior, and just generally best value for money

i had a Y reg corsa C SRi 1.4 as my third car, it was a good car

ive had 5 cars in 2 years....

and not a powerful hatchback, only a 1.4 litre, no turbo, and only 88 bhp ...

first one had 70bhp

second 75bhp

third 88

fouth 88

fifth 80

ok now if the insurance company are charging you that much money for a vehicle that has that performance than im schocked beyond words my friend

i wonder what to the price to ensure my car will be under your insurance companies in the uk?

note that im 16 in a month...bare that in mind when doing your estimations

haha trust me it will cost a bloody fortune, but really were I live there just idiots on the road who actually deserve to be smacked up from behind just for there stupidity.

in aus theres an insurance company that determines how expensive ur insurance will be based on your driving skills, you have to take a test to get it though lots of people go through it

in the uk, it goes on your age ...younger = worse

it goes on the power of car

more power = worse

it goes on the age and stealability of the car, older = more likely to be stolen = more

it goes on the desirability of the car, more desireable, = more

how many people have crashed it, statistics, like a car that younger drivers drive will be more

etc etc, its all based on statistics...

a quote for me on a sports car (Nissan 350z)

came out at 12,800

EDIT: @ sources, is that a vauxhall monaro?
