A UK company has been able to apply artificial intelligence can now be used to sharpen pixelated images and video in order to improve image quality.

Would be interesting to see if you could analyse it to find which patterns it recognised the fastest and then create a video compression algorithm to compress those features the most and see how much compression you could achieve and still have good looking video ect

Kinda like how FLAC and MP3 compress? MP3 just compresses everything, so it's smaller file sizes but far worse quality, whereas FLAC keeps all the quality, but only takes out the things that are not essential to the audio quality. If they followed the FLAC method, they could essentially do that, but on the user end, could "unpack" the packets, and get the full quality. But that's probably too complicated so think the method they have now is probably equal to everyone.
