Hi all, I have just ordered 2 x 7800GTX and a DFI lanparty SLI-DR motherboard ( Thanks for your adivce guys )

Is it worth me getting 2 x Artic cooling NV silencer 5s to replace the stock HSFs?

Thanks

Thats correct - in fact what some people have done to shave a few degrees off under load (overclocked of course) is simply remove the plastic cover off the current heatsink and use an 80/120mm fan to blow cool air across both cards.

Very effective - can shave up to 10 degrees of the load temps - leading to a more stable and satisfying overclock

I have an Arctic Silencer for my x850xt, I am very disappointed with it - its the loudest thing in my system! Yes it keeps temps low but its soooo freaking loud...

is it one of the grinding ones?

My last Artic Silencer blow up on me, as Mav said there are better ways to get your stock to work better for you.

The card worked fine but i tried using the original fan but it was no go so i RMA'ed it.

Personally i would stick with stock cooler :D

I ran a 120mm fan cut into my side panel to help with cooling my 2x BFG 7800 GTXs work a right treat,or buy a zalman fan bracket.
