Apple iBook

My friend has a Apple iBook, 12inch version i think

anyways, the HD is done on it and he lost all his files

hes gonna go out and buy the Macbook or the Macbook pro, and i was thinking of buying the old ibook off of him and see if i can fix it

he was gonna throw it out!

anywyas, i looked at it, and i have to remove all the screws and everything to even access the HD. is it doable?

See if u can buy it off him on the basis that u get it fixed - if that makes sense. i.e. if u stick in a drive and it still don`t work u won`t be stuck with a pretty door-stop.

actually it was a powerbook g4, just googled and checked it

ill ask him if i can just borrow it and try to fix it, and if it works that ill buy it (we'll talk about a price before) and if it dont, he said he was gonna chuck it

Tbh, he could ebay it for parts. Seeing as direct Apple stuff can be pretty expensive. Replacement screen etc..

the laptop he had was the universities, 'his mom is a professor'
