It'll move in both directions depending on the sound that it needs to reproduce. If the bass is in time with the music you are listening to then it is wired correctly
btw update can a screw damage your sub there was a screw in my subwoofer box and i heared like it was my sub ratteling but i taked the plate amp off and taked it out plugging everything back in and all was done but could it have done any damage to my sub???

sub sounds normal when i got my ear next to the bass reflex port really clean but could the screw done any damage to my subwoofer?
