AMD Teases new FX CPU

10 Core 5GHZ 28nm FX chip :D?. I mean, Intels been all up in
"Look at us with our new 8 cores coming hahahaha" *twirls around in fancy dress*

AMD
"But we we're the crazy ones with wicked cool names for our processors and a trillion cores and a high clock speed D:"

So i hope :D this is something quite, Wild.
I like it wild 'w', in that way i have a soft spot for AMD

Theres not much use in having ten cores on a CPU as far as I'm aware. As usual your posts are very err "lively" :D

Roy Taylor sharing something new... that's new.. he's famous for his leaks. I'm crossing fingers for some tasty AMD power CPU.

Probably just an APU with a higher clock and a beefier iGPU, if it were truly something big it wouldn't be kept behind close doors for long. We'd have a larger build up and a bunch of rumours flying around.

AMD CPUs rock at streaming. My ol' 8320 is actually as good as a 3770/3820k when it comes to that. The 9590 isn't far off the 3930k in that area as well.

:amdwar: :ar::amd::yelrotflmao:

(no hard feelings)
Internet in a nutshell. AMD were better than intel at one point as well. No point taking sides imo. I'm quite happy with my AMD cpu for general stuff if it wasn't for the fact I can't get an itx AM3+ board that is good and I need a bit more rendering grunt :P.

Thats why I also want it to be a high end FM2+ socket cpu. It'll mean we finally get decent performing AMD cpus for small form factors.

Well a strong cpu from AMD is good for us all anyway, let's keep our fingers crossed for something that makes the market a little more competitive

Well with £1.04 Billion very kindly providing some new development funding from Intel  we should see something special.

8 module, steamroller based [or better] good overclocking FX chip... an interesting proposition. Do any am3+ boards support pci-e 3.0?

When I look at AMD processors I would just love to see a new chip release with the Phenom branding, FX for me is done.

Would love to see a phenom 3 myself buddy

"With liquid cooling"
Inb4 out of the box 5.2GHz for $999, to drop to $399 because nobody buys it, get ready to fry some eggs in your rig.
I hope they didn't put a penny down of the intel donation for this, the CPU market is lost for them and even if they reclaim it, not exactly the kind of market you want to invest into right now.

They did that with the original 8150 for a bit as well tbh. So it might not be thaaat bad. Probably will be though.

I gather Intel paid that fine back when they 1st lost the court case which is back in 2009 or so now? (too lazy to look up the date :p )

Also, unless I'm wrong that money isn't going to go directly to AMD either, rather it'll be used (or rather has been) to fatten up the bureaucrats in Brussels instead.
