Maybe you could go Intel so AMD releases no longer rock your boat.

It wouldn't matter. If I bought a 4790K right now, Intel would announce next week that the new Broadwell chips would be out at the end of the month costing the same but with a 30% boost in IPC. God hates me.

Don't know would I trust that article, it hasn't got much by means of an actual source. Although it's probably accurate all the same.

Oh well, guess I'll be sticking with my FX-8350 for another while to come then. ^_^

I'm betting it's true. AMD has made a hobby out of disappointing the hardcore segment lately. Them trying to wring one last little refresh out of Piledriver wouldn't surprise me at all. Remember how many revisions of the Phenom II came out? They'd bump the clock up 100 MHz and come out with a new one almost every week there for a while.

The relatively minor FX-9590 refresh does however point towards AMD still thinking about the enthusiast community’s needs

BS!! It's not a refresh! Just Stock they can't shift, and by just sticking a AIO in the box makes it no more tempting. Seriously AMD just bin them all.

Yeah but in that article is this paragraph :

However the teased AMD processor bundle isn't expected to bring anything really new to the AMD FX processor range other than the liquid cooler marketing ploy. According to AMD roadmaps it will be based in the Vishera design and the Piledriver micro-architecture, not Steamroller.

I very much hope that it's something actually new but knowing AMD's track history of disappointment I'm not giving them the benefit of the doubt this time like I have every other time only to be kicked in the nuts. If this turns out to only be a 9590 with essentially a H80 then Roy Taylor needs to be drug out in the street and horse whipped.
