No the Leadtek 6600GT will be more powerful than the plain 6600 as the GT core has more pipes and runs faster. Also has GDDR3 memory.

A 6600GT/6600 won't run BF-2 on all high settings unless your playing at 1024 x 768 perhaps with 2 x AA but I doubt it.

Yeah it will do that low res

Personally I'd prefer 1024 x 768 on medium settings

BF-2 sucks RAM too - if you have 2gb that will make a big difference :)

I have a PNY 6600gt, 128MB agp version. When I had 1GB of ram, I struggled to run BF2 on 800x600 medium settings. Since getting a nice 2GB pair of G.skills, I can run battlefield on medium-high settings, 1024x768 and no AA with no slowdown at all. I could even push it higher but havn't felt the need to yet as it's so smooth even on a packed 64 player server :D.

I've heard that 256MB of RAM on the gfx card helps a fair bit with BF2, but check that the 256mb versions clock speeds aren't too much slower. I reckon, to run BF2 on full settings you really would need that along with 2GB of ram.

Also, remeber to turn up 'agp aperature' up in the BIOS, I've turned that up to the max setting possible and it has helped a lot. Imo the 6600GT rules for the price :boink:

The option for "Graphics Aperture Size" (which may show up as "AGP Aperture Size") was originally intended to help AGP graphics cards make more efficient use of system RAM when rendering graphics textures. This function has become outmoded now that many graphics cards have 128 MB or even 256 MB of video RAM onboard. At the same time, video RAM typically runs faster than system RAM. The old rule of thumb, often stated as "Set the graphics aperture size to half the RAM in your system," thus no longer applies. It's better to set texture memory to an optimal size instead. Set the value for the "Graphics Aperture Size" which may also show up as "AGP Aperture Size" to "128" or "64" MB instead.

Depending on your motherboards manufacturer, the BIOS may be different to the pic below....but you get the idea. Usually you'll find the settings for AGP aperture in the 'Advanced Chipset features' of your BIOS.

I'd be looking at the LeadTek 6600GT for the reasons kempez815 previously stated

As far as looking for an e-tailer to purchase the card, I'd use StaticIce

It's an Australian based gear search engine, just type in what you want and hit search for the list of stores closest to you. I have taken the liberty of doing this for you :)

hey champ, can u tell me how 2overclok my xpertvision 6200agp for the time being, while i wait till i buy a new 1?? or any tell me how

thankss

Yep mate for sure :)

Kempez815 posted a really cool guide for peeps who haven't a lot of experience in overclocking.

http://articles.networktechs.com/39-p1.php

It uses the overclocking tools already present in Nvidia drivers, and is prolly the easiest for you to start with. Let us know how you go, and don't hesitate to ask questions.

I do believe the 6200 can have extra pipes unlocked using Riva tuner, but I can't remember whether it was PCI-E or AGP that it didn't work on. I think it was AGP, so just concentrate on the coolbits first.:)

OH CHAMP its people like u who make things seem so simple absolute champion cheers man no probs i will do....if i hav any troubles will let u no asap.

THankss

Ok, I assume you have WordPad yes? Just open that, paste the stuff in. Then, when you save the file, put a name and then ".reg" (no quotes). Ex: coolbits.reg This saves it as a registry file. Then just open the file, say yes when it asks you whether you are sure you want to add a registry file, and it's done! Then open the advanced settings of your Display Properties (right-click desktop, Choose properties, click the Settings tab, then the Advanced button), click the tab that has the name of your graphics card (your case should say "Geforce 6200" or something like that) and there should now be a section in there called "Clock Frequencies". Go in there and then follow the Kemp's guide for testing.

Put it into Notepad

Then save it as a normal .txt file

Then re-open it and save it as a .reg file

what he said and what it says in the guide^ ;)

yehh thanks i just did that...now wat is the best settings to set not 2blow my comp or wateva and to run good games in high most prefferred settings??

thanks
