Aftermarket fan filters

Hi guys,

There is a whole lot of aftermarket fan filter you can buy today, but I have no experience when it comes to this thing.

Looking for advice from you all and in particular from the users of aftermarket filters...which are good and why, which are bad and why and so on. Help please.

Also this is my first post so don't beat it al ot.

P.S. yes am I a lazy mfoker, but my area is also really dusty. I mean really dusty, stock 1366 cooler is suffocating after only a few weeks...its not like my house is a thrash hole its just the air, it is really dusty.

I know what you mean, i live in a realy old house built from two bungalows which served as offices in WW2 near a airfield for those big balloons but anyway the house is so dusty in unbielivable, your work tops get dusty enouth you can swipe your finger and get a layer of dust.

Its not that the house is never cleaned or looked after but its just there, i feel your pain but unfortanatly i cant give you advice but im sure someone will.

What case are you currently using, and what is your fan setup?

If you have a lot of dust in the air its really important to have slight positive pressure for your rig. This would mean that there is more air entering the rig via the filtered intake fans than leaving via the exhaust. The slight positive pressure would force air out of the expansion slot gaps and any other gaps keeping your rig as dust free as possible.

If you have negative pressure, then the dusty air is sucked into the case through all of the unfiltered gaps.

So having say 1x120 exhaust & 2x120 filtered intakes like the Fractal R3 would result in a pretty clean dust free system.

I live in countryside with pets and farm down the road, boy it gets dusty in the house, cleaning PC's out are a nightmare.

Would love to find some DIY stuff.
