Well, finally managed to find my stable OC settings these past few days so I feel ready to post my rig. Of course, technically it isn't a project considering it has been built already, <shrugs> but who really cares (ok, so maybe some people do but I don't :p )

Specifications

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3500+ @ 2.508 ghz (Newcastle core, saved $50 on eBay so you get what you pay for <shrugs>)

Mobo: ASUS A8N-SLI Deluxe (Supposedly solid mobo according to PC World)

Graphics: BFG 6800 GT @ stock (didn't want to void warranty for now, doesn't really matter too much anyway)

Memory: Corsair TWINX2048-3200 @ 456 mhz 3-3-3-8 (I wanted 2 gigs, didn't want to spend too much, saved $90 on eBay <shrugs>)

DVD-ROM: Mad Dog 16x DVD-ROM (Dad already had this, eh)

DVD-RW: I/O Magic Dual Format Double Layer (16x normal, 4x DL) (Again, dad had this, eh)

Floppy: Random butchered from really old computer

Case: Raidmax 868W Scorpio midtower (dad already had this, eh)

Monitor: Samsung 712N 17" LCD (dad already had this, eh)

PSU: Crappy as heck Raidmax 420W (came with case, so already had, eh)

(tell me if I forgot anything)

Cooling

CPU: Stock

GPU: Stock

Case: 5 80mm fans (1 LED on side window) (all came with case, so eh)

Side: Blasted 350mm desk fan  (see pic in next post) (so loud, but drops cpu temp by 2-3 C) (I know at least someone will curse me for this or point out that somehow it's bad :p )

Temps

CPU Idle: 34 C

CPU Load:48 C

GPU Idle: 52 C

GPU Load: 70 C

(Someone tell me if these are acceptable)

Voltages

VCore: 1.52-1.536 (Friggin crappy PSU rails!)

VDimm: 2.85

(Someone tell me if these are acceptable)

That's it!

All right, now here's the pics

Here's the innards:

Here's the front, monitor, and beautiful load screen:

Side view (with the fan that the Aeros part of name came from):

Just for the heck of it, side view with just the window on (once i get new HSF this'll be what it looks like):

And, of course the front with door open:

Good stuff!

Hmm, didn't I make a note of why right next to most of the parts? I chose my specs before I even heard about OCing, so with that... ya...

And now I know why I need a new PSU. Rails are pathetic and sometimes it goes badly enough that my graphics card doesn't get enough power and drops in performance by like 50%     (200 mhz core, 500 mem)

ha I never even noticed that :rollingla sorry about that ;)

ROFL. If it was that's sad cause I knew what OC'ing was, and I was OC'ing for that matter, at the mere age of ten. (got my XP 2000+ to 2100+ :).)

Anyway, nice system there :).

First off, new PSU. Raidmax = Shit in a box :).

You need some mad cable management dawg... That shit is wild inside, rofl.

Hehe, I figured you guys would mention my cable management. My friend built it for me, and I think he is jus slightly naive, says so many things don't matter( PSU (which he was definately wrong about) and cables (dad asked whether the cables should be neater and he's like "No no no no, it doesn't matter", and of course he's the one who thinks that OC will totally kill my parts <shrugs>) What would be considered cable manage, to be honest I really don't know? Edit: O wait, jus noticed what you really meant.

O, and total cost to me: $800 :P Course my dad had most of the lesser items and I went to eBay for the memory, processor, and mobo, so saved total of like $190 or so

Take a look at the Rig gallery under Link area on the site. Many of us have spent a fair bit of effortb to get our cables tidied away. Can make a helluva lot of difference :)

thats a pritty nice lookin system, yea, new PSU would prolly be a good idea...and 70*C on the graphics card under load...phwor...bit too much, try to get it down a bit if posible...a artic cooling graphics card cooler thingy maybe?...they worked wonders for my 9800pro...other than that, its pritty good, and at $800 thats about £400...thats very cheep for waht it is lol...so...yea overall very nice...keep it up :)

As for cable management, zip ties come in handy, and you can even run thin connector's behind the mobo :).
