A warning to our Aussie brothers.

Do you maybe want to... elaborate?

Warning someone against dodgy stuff is always good, but maybe you can post some screenies rather than making people join a Facebook group to be able to back up the claim :)

He's a con artist. If you click join on the group you will find a few posts explaining how Dan has ripped them off.

As Feronix said, you need to elaborate on what actually happened rather than forcing people to join another group just to find out. Great job with the warning, but it is not backed with any evidence without having to join a group to find it.

Not many people want to join a Facebook group they they do not know.

Quoting the posts or screenshotting them is better than a link to a locked group

If you follow the link to Linus' you will see Bnegs post with the images in. I tried to separate them to upload them myself but Linus' quotes do not break the images down correctly due to the way the forum works.

Look for B-Negs post you can't miss it.

BTW I'm not forcing any one to do anything. If you're too lazy to click a button you deserve to get ripped off.

Appreciated.

Calm down dude, It has nothing to do with being lazy. There are plenty of people this sort of thing can help. However there are also plenty of people that do not use social media, these people could do with the help in showing the evidence.

Not to mention if I go to any random forum and post that you rip people off with nothing but a link to a closed Facebook group, half the people will believe me anyway without ever clicking the link. Doesn't mean you're a scammer just because I say so though.

Luckily the people on this forum are usually pretty clever :)

Also, thanks for that second link, that does make stuff a lot clearer.

Taken from the Facebook main group page. If one incident wasn't enough two ought to do it.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So i bought Daniel woods's iron man monitor in october of last year. sent the money on 6/10/2015 friends and family paypal $300 plus $25 for shipping
said he would bring it up on the weekend on the 10th. He tells me to use friends and family to avoid fees.
11th told me he couldn't make it, said he would post it the following tuesday "should be there by thursday" and assured me it'd have tracking.
13th told me on he couldn't make the post office. That his friend would drive it down on the weekend of the 17th.Over this time he seemed very occupied with his child being born and i was sympathetic and understanding of that.
Started to get worried though because of friends and family transfer. Asked him on the 13th for his address and number. Offered to drive down to pick it up. Girlfriend drives me 3 and a half hours interstate at our expense and picked it up on the 18th, the day of my birthday. Monitor looks filthy, he looks like his in a hurry, he wipes the monitor with a dish cloth and tells me it needs a clean. Ride with the monitor on my lap the whole way home. In the car i notice the dirt is not dirt. It is paint, spray paint actually. Whole panel is covered in a fine paint spray, thousands of tiny dots of paint. Manage to carefully pry one off the panel with my nail. Convince myself i just need to find a way to remove paint. Get home and ask him what chemicals are safe to remove paint. Tells me he didn't notice the paint, says he will find out the best way to remove the paint for me. After cleaning the dirt and just having the paint remain i realize it has 9 dead pixels over two clusters in the middle of the screen.
Asked him for the receipt on the 18th of october, he tells me he got it from scorptec and he would forward me the receipt. He says it was probably my fault from not properly securing it in my car, it was on my lap, i was very careful.
ask him on the 23rd of october if he got any email, he says no.
ask him on the 11th of novemeber if he got any email, he says no.
ask him on the 13th of november, no. Continue ask if he sent a second email after the one on the 19th of october, he claims it is a second inquiry.
ask on the 24 of november tells me no they're not good with receipts
ask 4th of december, tells me they're busy with christmas, but "PLE are sending him one" even though he told me he bought it from scorptec? maybe his memory is funny?
So? what did i do? well. As you can see the serial number has been blanked out with permanent marker? why is this? well i can only assume for some nerfarious reason???? However, with some methylated spirits i lift the marker off the serial number and i feel like i'm batman, i register the serial on the asus website and request repair. Then my cousin resprays the bezel from the original iron man colours to a gloss black, with automotive paint. Then i use turps after using turps on a dead panel and testing what turps does. The paint lifts. Asus pay startrack to pick up the monitor, they replaced the panel. hallelujah.

Basically the guy either sells things that are broken, then does a bunk, or, takes money and does not deliver. When questioned he gets irate and ignores the buyer..

Overall? not a nice guy. IIRC he posts here too, so I wanted to make sure that none of our Aus users got caught out, given there are a few here.
