8800GTX or Hold out?!?

yeah, I was wondering what your opteron is clocked at. I have my 165 at 2.85ghz, and it runs smooth as butter.

I run mine @ stock at the moment. When I find something that challenges it then I may think about overclocking it.
And tis on stock air as I swap it out too much for anything else tbh (also why I don't OC it either)

It's definately the cpu holding it back!!
Overclocked the 170 a bit more up to 2.75ghz @ 1.5v 
and increased the speed of the GTX slightly too and got 9647 points at 1280x1024.
My memory is on a very very very consertive divider and the timings are slack.
Orthos fails after an hour or so, which is a major issue, so I'll just slow it back down to 2.5ghz until I upgrade.

Im in a similar position to the original thread. My motherboard (P5k dlx wifi), RAM (2gb crucial ballistix) and optical drive arrived today (thanks scan/crucial/scan)! but i dont know which gfx card i am going to be running in the system.
currently i think im going to be using a radeon 7000 pci but know that ill need something with more power (at least as fast as a 7800GT that i had a year ago), but dont have the £100 to shell out on something that i know is going to give inferior performance.
what to do? spend the damn 350 on gtx? spend less on gts? get a 2nd hand 7800 or equivalent?
The real crazy thing is that i know i need to move upto an lcd screen and have my sights set on the upcoming dell 2407-hc (1920x1200) for which ill need something with a bit of kick.
PS: I am also liking the £35ish XFX that XMX has for sale, but i cant PM him or post on the forsale forums, what to do? I tried contacting the person im supposed to but nothing doing really. odd.
