7900 Gx2!

A German manufacturer has apparently leaked the specs and pricing for Nvidia's upcoming quad SLI ready card the 7900 GX2.

The GX2 is basically a dual core 7900 GTX with an SLI connector and is said to run at 500 MHz core and 1200 MHz memory and feature 1024 MB (yes a whole Gigabyte) of GDDR 3.

Prices are estimated at a staggering 820 Euros (around £570) per card.

Bugger that for a game of cards! No doubt some of you on here are gonna be flogging your 7900s in a few weeks though!

I predict a sudden rise in popularity for 1 Kw PSU's and serisouly think that Danger Den and the like have their work cut out for them!

i think (dont quote me on it) there is a hole in the middle of the first card, and a fan inbetween it and the second card, which would explain the extra length of the cards

XFX is the first company to release the 1GB XFX 7900GTX Mem Clock GPU 24 Pipes. There is a catch - you canbut get this as a single card. It will cost you a saucy £582.74 including VAT. The card is listed as in stock and you have to imagine that you have to buy two of those cards to have a Quad SLI.

Yep quadsli is only available as part of a pre-built system.

I re-engineered retail unit will be made avialble before G80 is released.

As I am CPU limited with just two volt modded 7900TX I doubt I'll be getting em - unless of course I am somehow able to release another 200mhz (already at 3.4ghz) from my FX60 CPU that is

A dual-card setup like that would seem to be an absolute pain to cool properly - imagine trying to fit on a proper watercooler or heat sink to the innermost GPU.
