How the hell do I get em off? They seem like push pins but have a black thing around the outside, the don't come off with reasonable force put on em nor do they seem to come off by turning.

Anyone know?

happy xmas!

There's two prongs on the reverse side of the board for each pin that need to be pushed together for them to come out. Make sure to hold the pins with one hand or have the board against something, because once you push the prongs together, they will go flying out.

TY although I kinda wish I hadn't found out, not only does the mosfet cooler hr05 or w.e it is not fit onto the 680i LT but IDK if its meant too but the chipset cooler is easily movable at this rate I'm going to brake my bloody board.

Would be nice if it all worked for me for once.

I guess it'll teach me 4 not paying attention heh...

But can I check does a hr-05 normal go onto a north bridge of a 680i??? Because it was quite a tight fit its on fine but a bit loose if I turn it i obviously hear scraping.

Scraping? Scraping is not good... Is there any way you can snap a picture of your install for us so we can tell you whether or not it has been properly done?

DW I've taken it off, seems the page that I read which said "supports nvidia chipsets" was kinda out of date, doesn't support 680i.

No damage caused, wasnt on long enough 2 do anything seems fine, doesnt fall off anyway :D

So now, to re-atach the mosfet cooler then scold myself for being a newby to actual modding.

Going to buy a HR-05 IFX and HR-05 SLI IFX since they DO seem to work with the 680i's, a bit bigger but meh, probably work better when passive, atleast then can use 2x 80mm blue led fans will look nice.

Byby money....

Seriously tho I do scare myself sometimes I cant replace that mobo :( don't realize what you got until you lose it, no matter the scale :D

Glad you got it sorted! You'll be uber happy with the HR-05, those things are monsters, but they get the job done more than adequately.

:beerchug:

Anyone know any aftermarket mosfets for 680i by XFX/EVGA except thermalright ones which dont fit and not including water that I can get in the UK.

Yes quite hard because they don't exist as far as I know just going 2 say this anyway just in case...mosfets not something generally made but i want some cool ones :D

In case any1 wondered I tried the type 1 thermalright ones and they didn't fit.

Come again..

Have you just answered my impossible and frankly ridiculous request

Unfortunatly they dont look much better then stock ones... but idk ill look in more detail.

ty!

If your looking at the right ones then no, they dont look like much, but they do perform better than 99% of the stuff out there.

Main because they are actually made out of copper. Whereas the stock stuff it all alu that's sprayed/anodised/painted or whatever to look like copper.

Couple them with a decent 40mm (the simple akasa one is fairly good) fan and you'll be sorted.
