3d printed delid tool worth the risk???

I think delid tool is worth the money. It minimizes the chance of damage.

Yep. Even when I have always used a razor... I got to the point where the risk is no longer worth it. I picked up Der8auer delid tool and no more worries.

If you mark the CPU in any way, even non fatally then you ruin your chances of a return. Use the delid tool, seal the bugger back up and you get your warranty as well :)

It's a shame Brendan has moved to the USA. IIRC he used to charge like £5 for the service.

Delided my 7700k last night used thermal grizzly liquid metal and re sealed the IHS and now my load temps are a massive 30 degrees lower which is insane!

But I killed my 1080 ti but that's another story and won't enevr be using a kraken g10 again

30C? ok i think thats a world record then because biggest know drop so far was 23C.

And to think people suggest not to use liquid metal!

That's a rounded number but I was hitting between 85 and 91degrees now I'm not exceeding 63 obviously it isn't perfect and ambient temps were different so I can't give a perfect result but I'm happy

The kraken G10 is compatible with every gpu I think but I had a freak accident with a memory heatsink I fitted that got caught under the waterblock and put massive pressure on the memory chip and now it's attracting all over the place on boot and crashing before windows

Aww man sorry to hear about that :(

I once used thermal pads that were too thick and thought you had to tighten the screws really hard. Literally bent my 8800 Ultra like a banana and broke the solder under the GPU core :( was totally brown bread.

Yeah it's very painful I wiuld have rather the cpu died than the gpu £700 down the pan I actually had to hold back the tears and I'm getting flashbacks even talking about it.

Now I need to get a replacement :(
