2011-v3

So I literally had all my Z97 components delivered just as they announced the X99, so I took back the CPU, motherboard and RAM and decided on 2011-V3 instead.

To be honest the 5960X is way out of my price range so that's out of the question, but I'm still not sure which of the other two CPU's to pick. According to the reviews I've seen the 5820K actually out performs the 5930K in many areas, and to be fair they are pretty similar besides the 200/100 MHz difference on the base and turbo clock speeds and ofc. the 28 vs 40 PCI-e lanes. price wise we are talking 1300-1400 danish kroner equivalent to 130-145£.

So i guess the best way to settle this is to hear what you guys would choose?

Dude if you're getting an R5E it's an insult to put anything less than a 5930k on it :-P

And yea i was reading it here some where on the forum. ill try find where for you.

LOL :D yeah i guess you're right and THX for the help much appreciated.

5930k for sure..... apparently the 5820K can't OC for crap.

Tom just suggested it. We should wait for more reviews/buyer's results to sey if the 5820K overclocks well or not.

However, if it can get an average overclock of 4.5GHz with ~1.3V there would be no real reason to buy a 5930K over a 5820K, unless you want to do 3+ sli/cross

I was thinking of getting another 780TI classified but since the 900 series is just around the corner I'l wait and invest in that instead.

I won't be able to get my hardware until the start of next week due to school and BJJ competition this week so hopefully (crossing fingers that he gets time to get around the reviews this week) I'll see the results by then.

But THX for mentioning it.

You're ok with your configuration, no need for more processing power...

Keep your graphics card, it's more than enough for 1080p 60 hz

I'd suggest to wait for nex amd/nvidia release and get a 1440p 120 hz, or a 4k monitor if they drop in price. The two you mentioned are still 1080p... only larger

The problem is there is only a limited number of 4K screens that run 60 Hz and with the price point they are on I don't feel they are worth it.

The Benq has gotten really nice reviews also it is a 120 Hz if that is good or bad I won't know til I try it.

The Acer however is similar to the Benq but with G-sync so no tearing at a very reasonable price, but if its any bit as good as the Asus with G-sync i don't know haven't been able to find any reviews on it yet.

There is still some time to consider my options I'll have a look at some 4K screens and have a brainstorm on it.

I wouldnt go G-sync since you are bound to nvidia later on, no one knows if they screw up sometime and AMD gets the masterrace

I've been waiting since the launch of bulldozer...

As far as I've understood AMD is doing alright in the GPU buisness, I mean they run hot but performance wise they seem to be doing well. Another thing is that price wise they can't be beat or am I completely off here?

I'm no AMD fan I've owned one and that experience is enough for me so I'm sticking with Nvidia unless they fuck up badly as they did back with the 8000 series if I remember correctly
