Hi all. Kempez lured me here with multiple PM's promising 'candy' and 'fun times.' I'm a computer geek (like the rest of us). By day I'm an Assistant Controller at a Capacitor Manufacturing plant in Maine, by night (or evening) I'm a regular gamer with a penchant for computer tech (or a major geek if you listen to my wife...) I help out with a couple little LAN Parties in the New England area, MaxFrag and LPANE's NorEaster (plug plug). I've been playing video games since I was old enough to use the milk crate to give me enough height to reach the controls of the Pac Man machine. I'm 29 now, pretty frickin old in today's gaming standards. When people roll their eyes an say "Aren't you a little to old to be playing video games?" I just reply, "It's not the video games, I just go to be around all the young boys...." And that usually shuts them up and keeps them (and their annoying children) from ever bothering me again.

As for the avatar...I can't take credit for making it.....another guy had spliced a couple seconds from two Disney films ("Jungle Book" and "Fox and the House") and I said "THAT HAS TO BE MY AVATAR because it's just so messed up...."

Yup, that's the main goodies....no OC'ing right now....trying to lock down a stability issue I've had since a power surge came through the phone line during a lightning storm. Burned out the DSL Modem, my network switch, and the NIC port on my old motherboard (an Asus A7N8X-E). Since that surge I had random 'freezes' ....no crashing....just everything freezes hard. I might boot into windows and it would freeze....restart...play BF2 for 3 hours no issue...close out...open up IE and FREEZE. I replaced the mobo with a DFI one (those are freakin sweet.....the Damn BIOS is SO TWEAKABLE!) but last night while playing BF2 with Gamecomm going in the background I was having weird feeback and noise, even after I turned off EAX and set the sound to software....I'm thinking the soundcard (SB Audigy 2 Value) might be messed up as well....going to pull the card and see if the onboard gives me better stability.....

Argh! Let this be a lesson to any of you without surge supression on your phone or cable line!

My surge protector is on maa phone line atm, and we don't get much thunder/lightening like you guys do so I should be ok

My surge protector does my LAN, and my cable TV connection to my compy aswell as the power, so I'm good .
