Your first ever PC?

I got into computers a very long time ago, it actually took me many months of waiting till I realised if I wait for "the next thing" I wuld never get a PC as things were moving quite fast in those days.
My first PC buy was from Evesham Vale in the 90s at the time it was the latest and fastest AMD 550 CPU with riva tnt gfx and an 80g drive and cost back then about £1500.

My first build was an athlon 2500 which was the best overclocking cpu at the time and I didnt even need to mod the cpu.

I got 2 x chieftech dragon full towers that I was going to watercool but never got around to it (still have the cases gathering dust in the garage).

What was your first PC?

My first PC was an IBM 8088, with 640k of RAM which I spent many a fine hour staring at BASIC trying to work out where my code had gone wrong  this machine was later sold to purchase our 286 which was my serious introduction to the PC age. Oh how times have changed.

Technically speaking, our first family computer was the Aquarius, a 4k monster. As in it had 4k of RAM, not that it was capable of running 4k displays :) !

The first PC I actually bought to replace my (party damaged :)) Amiga was a Pentium 75 system from Time Computers at an eye watering £1500. It came with a lovely FST 15" monitor which was massive back in day. Changed the motherboard about a year later to upgrade the CPU and I've never bought a whole system since.

My first PC was a Packard bell, running windows 98se. It had a AMD chip running at 800Mhz, 32MB of SDRAM, and a 10GB HDD, with the 56k modem ;)
I still have it and it still runs C&C red alert 2, I have upgraded a few bits, HDD is now 60GB, the RAM is now at 256MB and it has a DVD player and a dedicated PCI GFX card.

Hah my mother spent almost £1800 on a Time Computer which had a Cyrix 166mhz CPU and a MASSIVE 4.3gb hard drive.

Is this showing my age now? ;)

But if we are talking about any computer then it would have to be the ZX Spectrum 128k.

Spectrum 48K
Spectrum 128k +3
Atari STe
486 sx 25
Pentium 200mhz

Start of my computers ...... Oh so many since then

Riva TNT with an 80GB drive? were 80GB drives even around in the time of the Riva TNT?

I recall getting a 20GB with my geforce 2 mx machine and that being pretty swank...

Pretty sure 80GB didn't arrive til around early 2000's and TNT was 1998.

Back around that time I was still rocking 2 4GB drives, still had plenty of room lol

you may well be right, I am 53 so memory not as good as used to be. I do recall having 40gb drives at some point

F*ck me lads... I feel like a little boy here lmao.

My first PC I don't know the specs of as I wasn't into PCs at that time... But it was a big fat white/greyish monitor, with an big chassi that had an disk drive lol.

After that I had an DELL looking one, like an Intel Pentium dual core, 4GB ram, Nvidia gtx G100.

And after that I got my first really high end system from my then school, which since has been rebuilt...

i7 2600K, 8GB Corsair Vengeance Pro 1600MHz, Sapphire Radeon HD6950 etc etc.

So yeah, I feel very young in comparison to your oldies
