Yellow 1 pin coming of pump ?

So my Koolance PMP 500 arrived about an hour ago, and my god it is sexy. So much so as soon as I opened the box my mind was made up not to hide away under the mid plate, to be admired. Also it is great a little bit louder than a D5 but still nothing to moan about. I think once the case has it's panels on and the fans running it won't be noticeable at all.

A couple of questions though. firstly, it has the regular 2 pin molex, and a single pin with a yellow wire, is this the tacho signal cable, that goes to the motherboard ? And secondly, can I replace the molex with a fan connection to power it off a fan controller ? And thirdly, should the fluid be like soup, as soon as the pump starts up, it causes so much froth in my yellow coolant, regular clear with a full bottle of Mayems yellow dye. Only for now until I can buy some pastel yellow. Cheers guys.

The froth is just bubbles. After running it for a few hours they'll start to disappear.

It's only air after all - bleeding the loop gets the air out, therefore bleeding will remove the froth.

You can change the molex to a fan cable, but I personally wouldn't. Your fan controller may not be able to provide it with enough power for a start. Rewire a molex extender if you want it a little quieter. I'll explain how if you want to do this.

The single cable is tacho - but tbh, there's not really any need for it IMO. I cut mine off the D5.

Cheers mate, how would I go about the molex extender then ? My fan controller is an NZXT Sentry mix, rated at 50w. I have had it running for about 30 mins, and it is running like a dream. You can hear the power, the noise is a little whiny, a bit like my ex wife a constant neeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

I know it's been two days, but I just saw this now

If I have understood correctly, you would need something similar to this,
but maybe with tach signal if you wanted that.
Alternatively, you could mod your cable from the 4 pin to the 3 pin with the
following: 3 pin female header. But for that option you'd also need a Crimper
and a 4 pin remover.

If you order from MDPC-X anyway, you could also buy the fan headers
directly from him. How to go about this is explained in the link to his English
page.

Cheers mate. I'm sure I've got something like that knocking about.

I didn't have one, but I did knock one up, but it didn't work. Well it did and it didn't it was very stutery .
