X800XT PE Problem

hey was wondering if u guys could help me out again, i just bought an asus x800xt pe and ive installed aall the drivers and stuff but the smart doctor utility doesnt work because apparantly it cant detect the asus card?! even though it comes up in devices as an asus card?

im not overly familiar with asus cards, but do you have the ati drivers installed?

Hi mate, you might be better off starting a thread in the Graphics Card sectiom, but have you tried downloading the latest drivers & smart doctor util fromt heir website to see if that makes any difference?

yea sorry bout the deviation of topic but yea i downloaded the most recent of their drivers, but still nothing. man i bought asus cos i thought they were quality. ill make a new post in gfx section...

do u have another vid card mate? you might try taking out the x800 and putting in a different one, completely wiping the x800 drivers and software then reinstalling it all. just a suggestion, sometimes windows doesn't "take" to new hardware like it should.

if you've tried already it's highly unlikely it will work the second time, but go ahead and give it a shot, it wouldn't hurt to try again.

Have you used "driver cleaner" to clean off all nvidia and ATI drivers off of your PC mate?

1: Get Driver Cleaner clicky here

2: Uninstall the ATI drivers.

3: reboot into Safe mode and choose to clean all the correct ATI drivers, and those lavbelled "nvidia" (be careful as this program can clean a multitude of drivers"

4: Reboot into Winblow$, install latest ATI drivers from their website.

5: Fingers crossed

I'm not too sure how ATI's cards work: but I always get nvidia's latest updates from their website.

the catalyst control centre is just something that gives you alot more options and card information and setup.

Ahhhh - you need the main catalyst drivers from ATI

well get this none of that worked so i just kept unistalling/reinstalling and then voila it worked ! so now i can OC it!
