When you say you've tried it unsuccessfully....what do you mean?

Did you unlock them and then get lots of artifacts? If so then I would keep those pipes locked as they are likely to be damaged.

If it just didn't work then I'll take a look! ;)

i followed a guide i had seen a while back, i did everythin to the letter, i got some silver conductive paint from www.maplins.co.uk and i got some cocktail sticks to mark the line between the two locked points, maybe i should have used somethin a bit more sharper, never mind i will try again when i have the patients. :o

You need to do that?

Try using RivaTuner to unlock the pipelines.. Don't go doing hard mods where not necessary ;)

cant see how rivatuner will unlock them 4 extra pipes? the conductive paint is used for connecting bridges on motherboards alike, nevertheless will try riva tuner, thanks for the headds up. ;)

there is no option for Allow enabling hardware masked units, when i go into low level system settings, alls i get is overclocking, agp and fan tabs no nvstrap for obvious reasons, i cant find a tab that will allow me to enable them 4 extra pipes, very confusing, :(

I've got an X800 Pro and I'm pretty certain that the hardware mod is the only way to unlock the extra 4 pipes. RivaTuner won't do it. In fact, I'm not a big fan of RivaTuner as it has tended to make my cards unstable in the past.

So, if you've got big enough balls and you want to start painting conductive paint on your £280 graphics card, carry on. I wouldn't, I've had too many bad experiences with knackered graphics cards to last me a lifetime!

Good luck!
