Wiring pelt to PSU

Jim,

I noticed you did a rather fine job on sleeving your pelt and attaching it to the Booster psu. I see you used what looks like the clear plastic connectors used in light circuits?

What connector did you use to attach the pelt to the booster psu?

Basically, can you talk me through it please?

Well firstly the Booster X3 comes with a total of 12 cables coming out of it (6 positive, 6 negative). You need to use ALL of these cables when connecting it to the pelt. You could probably get away with half the cables, but you risk buring out the wires or the connector.

So, grab your X3, chop the 2x PCI-E connectors off the end, grab a cable joining block that's rated for at least 25amps (basically the fattest bugger you can find). Strip all of the X3 wires and separate the positive and negative wires into separate parts of the cable block. Then connect the Pelt to the corresponding points at the other side.

Also, make sure that you put the pelt the right way around when you set it up in your waterblock. Run the pelt for 2 seconds and feel what side gets hot/cold, and mark the hot side with a perm marker.
