Hello all, I have my friends laptop here which was having a problem booting into windows, it always came up startup repair for him. I attempted to repair it with his windows 7 disc but it never worked. I have a windows 8 disc here that i am trying to install onto the laptop but for some reason i keep on getting a message during installation saying that it is not possible to install the OS ?

Any help would be great, thanks.

Dario.

I'll start out by saying I don't know much about windows 8 ,
Is the windows 8 disk an upgrade disk or full copy?
If it's an upgrade disk , you might have some corrupt windows 7 files.
It kinda sounds like you need to re install windows 7 , hopefully he has a recovery disk.
Hopefully someone else with more experience than me can tell you a better way.

Ok, he doesnt have a recovery disc, but the disc I have is a full windows 8 disc (and windows 7) i have tried both many times to do a fresh install, but, anytime finish the installation and when i should be setting up my accounts and passwords and so on i get a message saying "recovery"

When i press Enter to continue the same message keeps on coming back up. When i press on F8 I get a list of options

1) Enable Debugging
2) Enable boot-logging
3) Enable Low Res video
4) Enable Safe Mode
5) Enable Safe Mode with Networking
6) Enable Safe Mode with Command Prompt
7) Disable driver signature enforcement
7) Disable early laugh anti-malware protection
8) Disable automatic restart after dailure
